Penny is a Director of the practice and head of care law in JNP Legal’s  Care Team. She advises on all aspects of care law and represents families in care proceedings, adoption applications and private child law cases. Penny regularly appears in the family law courts throughout South Wales and also Mid and North Wales.

Lee is the Head of the Family Department and is principally based at our Merthyr Tydfil office.  He advises on all aspects of Family Law with a particular emphasis on Children Act matters involving disputes surrounding the living arrangements of children and the time children spend with their parents following the breakdown of parental relationships.  He also advises and represents parents in care proceedings when local authorities become involved in families and seek  a care order to protect children.

Qualifications: LLB Law - Qualified in 2011. Studied law and undertook the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University.  

 

Rebecca Rees is a Solicitor who has headed the Civil Litigation Team at JNP Legal since 2015. She has more recently become Head of the Wills and Probate team.

 

Rebecca joined JNP Legal in 2008 from University, and commenced her training contract shortly afterwards. Rebecca advises individuals and businesses on most aspects of Civil Law. As a department head, Rebecca undertakes complex litigation, including high value contested probate and serious injury work.

 

Expertise:

She is highly experienced in both Claimant and Defendant litigation, including debt recovery, professional negligence claims, civil actions against the police, claims for wrongful interference with goods/delivery up, and inheritance act cases. Rebecca has considerable experience conducting multitrack and catastrophic injury work, including clinical negligence cases.

 

Due to her expertise in these areas, Rebecca has also worked on a Welsh Government project to introduce alternative entrance routes into the legal profession.

Loran is also an accredited Police Station representative, where she represents clients at the police station following a pre-arranged attendance or arrest.

Sophie is currently studying her CILEx, after finishing which she will be specialised in Family Law, Criminal Litigation and Conveyancing.

Louise joined in 1996 as a trainee solicitor, qualifying in 1998 and is now a Director in JNP Legal’s Family/Childcare Team. She is a member of the Law Society`s Children Act Panel Accreditation Scheme. She is also a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children and Resolution and has over 20 years’ experience in practicing in family/child care law. Louise is also JNP Legal Anti Money Laundering Officer.

 

Expertise:

Louise’s particular area of expertise focuses on Private and Public proceedings concerning the welfare of children appearing at all court levels. She has practiced in this area representing parents, extended family members and other intervenors but the emphasis in more recent years has been in representing solely the children subject of the proceedings either by their Cafcass Guardians or acting independently and instructed directly by the child.  In this field she has experience of complex cases involving sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect of children.

Tony Williams is a Director in JNP Legal’s Criminal Team.

He is a qualified duty solicitor (1999), Higher Court Advocate (Criminal) (2008) and holds the Law Society`s Criminal Litigation Accreditation.

Tony is also JNP Legal’ s  COLP and COFA and also  complaints director.

He is a member of the Association of Higher Court Advocates and has over 20 years’ experience in practicing criminal law.  

Tony has particular knowledge in relation to road traffic law and Professional Misconduct investigations.

Appears regularly before Magistrates courts, Crown Courts and disciplinary hearings/panels. Has practiced criminal law exclusively for over twenty year and has a wealth of experience and expertise in court advocacy and litigation.
