JNP Legal Managing Director Joins 50-Mile Charity Bike Ride, Helping Raise Over £40,000 for Velindre Cancer Centres
On Sunday 18 August, Tony Williams, our Managing Director joined the 50-mile charity bike ride led by former rugby star Jonathan ‘Jiffy’ Davies. The event, Jiffy’s Cancer 50 Challenge, united 338 cyclists to raise vital funds for Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff and other cancer centres across South and West Wales.
The ride began at Cardiff City Stadium and ended at the scenic Lighthouse restaurant in Swansea’s Bracelet Bay. The challenging 50-mile route tested participants but also strengthened their resolve.
This year, the event continued its remarkable legacy, having already raised over £220,000 in its first three years. Thanks to the collective efforts of all participants, including Tony and his teammates Simon Pritchard, CEO of Philtronics, Jeremy Horton, and Steve Pritchard, this year’s ride has added over £40,000 to the total. This pushes the overall fundraising efforts of Jiffy’s Cancer 50 Challenge to more than £250,000!
Reflecting on the event, Tony said, “Everything went smoothly on the ride, and I'm pleased to report we completed it safely with favourable weather. It's truly rewarding to have helped play a part in raising funds for a cause as important as this.”
The day was filled with camaraderie, fun, and a sense of achievement. Cyclists from all walks of life came together to support cancer patients and their families. The funds raised will play a crucial role in advancing the work of the cancer centres, helping to improve the future for countless individuals battling this disease.
Although the event has ended, the opportunity to support this vital cause remains. Donations can still be made to help reach even greater heights in the fight against cancer. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. To support, please visit the donation page.
Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and donated. Together, we are making a difference in the fight against cancer.
