Background

Maria is a Chartered Legal Executive and became a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) in 2008. She is also an accredited member of Lifetime Lawyers (formerly Solicitors for the Elderly). Additionally, Maria is a Dementia Friend and has completed the training to become a Dementia Champion.

Maria's legal career began at a highly respected law firm in Cardiff, where she spent over 30 years. During this time, she became a Partner and Head of the Private Client Department, which she successfully developed. Following the acquisition of this firm in 2023, Maria moved to a top 100 law firm in Cardiff before joining JNP Legal in 2025, where she continues to provide expert advice to clients both locally and beyond.

Maria has extensive experience working with families and individuals, offering guidance on Wills, Powers of Attorney, Estate Administration, and Trusts, including trusts for disabled persons. She has dealt with numerous complex estates and is known for her professional, friendly, and empathetic approach. Maria works closely with other professionals who refer their clients to her for advice and assistance.

Throughout her career, Maria has also worked with local charities and has run Will clinics to assist clients in planning for their future.

Interests

Maria is passionate about staying fit and has completed several challenging events, including the Welsh Three Peaks and a Tough Mudder race (which she vows never to do again!). She loves to spend time with her children and grandchildren and frequently visits Thailand to see family members who live there.
